New name, new logo and website, new direction!
Why the need for change? Waterski and Wakeboard Australia is the governing body for waterskiing and wakeboarding in Australia and is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission and the Federal Government. Significant changes have occurred over the past 2-3 years and Waterski and Wakeboard Australia must change with the times to ensure we meet the challenges of the future in increasing membership, provide better services for our members and maintain our standing across all Divisions as World level where we are a top 3 country. Social media is also changing the way we need to promote and market our sport a major consideration when looking at our name and logo. (We will continue to use the name AWWF for legal purposes however we will trade under the name of Waterski and Wakeboard Australia. The Board is also working hard with the corporate sector as we seek an official corporate partner to take our sport forward especially now in the tight fiscal constraints from the Federal Government and the ASC. Any lead you may have in this area please contact your Divisional Director so we can follow up.
We also have a new President in Grant Barnett taking over from Gavin Brain at our last AGM. Grant has already stamped his ideas on the direction of our sport and has organised a workshop summit in Sydney in May to look at all options on improving our sport from a High Performance and Participation aspect. You have been invited to send in your ideas to this summit to provide any positive ideas re the direction our sport takes into the future. It is not too late to provide this input, just e mail email@example.com with your thoughts.
