Meadowbank Water Ski Club is a not-for-profit organisation located in the upper Derwent Valley in Tasmania. Our club is situated on Meadowbank Lake and is regarded as the premier water skiing site in Tasmania. We have over 100 active members ranging from toddlers to retirees who enjoy and participate in all aspects of water sports.
The club began over 55 years ago and became incorporated on 1 October 1986. We hold long time connections with Hydro Tasmania, leasing areas of water from them since 1988, and also the Central Highlands Council.
The club is affiliated with the Australian Waterski and Wakeboard Federation (AWWF) as well as the Tasmanian Water Ski and Wakeboard Federation (TWWF), allowing the club to participate in and hold state level competitions and ski schools on site.
We host the TASWAKE State titles each year, and work with TASWAKE to facilitate development days for our younger members and associates, often gaining coaching expertise from top coaches and competitors on the mainland. The club actively promotes water skiing and hosts other water skiing clubs and water skiing events regularly at our site.
Each year the club is very proud to host a day at the lake for Canteen where we provide water sports activities and lunch for the members, family and carers of Canteen. Tasmanian Surf Life Saving also donate their time on the day, bringing in a jet ski and extra safety equipment to ensure all participants have a safe and fantastic day.
We have had many state and national place holders among our membership, and we are very proud of their achievements. Check out our “Hall of Fame.”
