It’s been more than a decade since the club saw new merchandise, so it was time we changed that.

Sadly our 2023 and 2024 skiing seasons are being cut short, but the purpose for this is a very important one.
Lake Meadowbank will be lowered twice over two years, to allow for work on the dam’s crest gates, which control water flows and lake levels.
Hydro Tasmania said: “Meadowbank Dam’s crest gates have been in service for more than 50 years and replacing them will be a complex project, requiring a crane to carefully lift 20 hydraulic cylinders, each weighing 4 tonnes, and the removal of extensive piping and wiring, all of which must be carried out in a safe and dry environment.”
The project will be undertaken across both 2023 and 2024, providing two shorter more manageable drawdowns of Lake Meadowbank instead of one long drawdown.
Nevertheless, members have been making the most of the time they do have on the water, as well as taking the opportunity to undertake some much needed maintenance projects and upkeep.

Despite cold and windy conditions, 16 riders from 19 to 5 years old hit the water on February 18 for the Taswake Wakeboarding Coaching Day. Spirits were high and all riders made solid progress throughout the day. It was great to see everyone improve their technique and add a few extra tricks to their riding. On April 18 Bic Life Hobart held a Stand Up Paddle Board day. They paddled the length of Meadowbank Lake from the causeway to our southern site. The conditions were perfect for them with the wind up to 15 knots NNW to WNW which was perfect. If took 2hrs paddling time and they stopped and ate lunch on the way.
